Nicilian is a luxury ready-to-wear label based in Dubai.

We design for the space between fabulousness and groundedness—where elegance meets ease, and silhouettes speak to both form and feeling.

Each collection begins with a question and unfolds as a visual narrative. Informed by cultural duality, emotional depth, and a reverence for craft, Nicilian explores life’s natural contrasts: softness and structure, modesty and sensuality, vulnerability and power.

We embrace regenerative materials like pure silk sourced through sustainable agriculture, because we believe fashion should restore—not deplete—the world around us. For us, consumption isn’t inherently bad; it’s about how, why, and what we choose to wear.

At Nicilian, sustainability isn’t a trend. It’s a way of moving through the world with care, intention, and style.

MEET THE FOUNDER & DESIGNER

Nicole Al Rais is the founder and creative director of Nicilian.

Raised in the countryside of Ramona, California, by a lineage of Sicilian seamstresses, and now based in Dubai, Nicole’s life has always unfolded in dialogue—between cultures, places, and identities.

She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the Sorbonne, where she specialized in fashion semiology: the study of clothing as a system of meaning. While pursuing a PhD in Visual Communication at the University of Sharjah—where her research continues today—she also studied fashion design at Istituto Marangoni in Dubai.

Though she ultimately stepped away from formal design school, launching Nicilian became a natural extension of her academic inquiry: a space where theory meets craftsmanship, and garments are not just worn—but read.

Nicole’s work explores how fashion expresses identity, memory, and movement, grounded in both scholarship and lived experience.
